The debut of Sony 3D TV, the Sony 55HX800 debuted many impressive new developments. This 55-inch 3D HDTV represents cutting edge TV technology. It has for instance, LED back lighting that is made possible by Dynamic Edge technology. There is also an amazingly fast refresh rate of 240Hz which translates into dazzling 2D pictures.
It is also a beauty, with graceful lines and surface that is all about shiny black bezel. On its right are controls for Volume, Power, Channel and Input Source. There is also a Home or Menu button which can be used to turn the TV on and off without using the TV control or the switch on the set.
On the left are duo HBMI jacks, composite A/V ports and a USP port. Most of the I/O ports are at the back and there is also a 3D sync connector. You do not even have to look at what you are pressing as you use it as it has the most repeatedly used buttons well positioned.
You can also switch between 2D and 3D mode with a button dedicated to this and there are also video presets you can choose like game, sports, cinema and other options. Roaming between three main video modes of Standard, Vivid and Custom is also enabled on the remote control.
Web applications are also included on this TV. There are as many as 30 video channels such as Amazon on Demand, FIFA World Cup Collection, Yahoo movies just to mention a few. You also get news channels, lifestyle channels, all-music channels and photo channels like Photobucket, Picasa and Shutterfly. 3D viewing accessories like active shutter 3D glasses among others are also available separately.
